You can tell me Tuesday, Jun 30 2009

So first off….antibiotics plus no yogurt intake = ick! Why didn’t ya’ll remind me?  hmph

Today I got a blast from the past…tho not so distant past.  This guy im’s me…we’ve never met in person and I’m not interested.  He seems handsome enough…but I’m just not interested.  So he starts chatting and the im’d segwayed to him being unhappy about his weight.  He said its 187 which is fine in my opinion.  So I asked “How tall are you?” he paused for a few…then wrote that he just wants to lower his body fat percentage.  Me: silence…I’ll let that question marinate for a bit.

Thirty minutes later he writes “How tall are you?”  Seriously? I asked you first….lol  I closed out the window.  I’m not responding to that.  So who knows…maybe he’s 4′11 but if he is shouldn’t he say so? I can’t be bothered especially if your insecurities are wall papered on my monitor.  You better act like 4′11 is the best thing going.

I think I may have been a lil evil lately….well what do you expect? Antibiotics…no yogurt…cuz ya’ll didn’t remind me is bound to have some negative side effects.

Last night in class I had a question…instead of letting the Prof answer, a bunch of women starting shouting out random answers in UNISON.  I held up my hand and said “excussse me”….*eyes focused on Prof for his response*.  Vette’s (My new bff in my statistics class) eyes grew…she later said she couldn’t believe I did that.  I’m glad she told me…it really wasn’t my intent to be rude, BUT I’m trying to get a handle on this info and the class is straight unruly.  Bird accompanied me last night.  She whispered to me…”no one has to raise their hands” LOL…she was the most well behaved person there.

Next time I’ll remember I need yogurt…ugh!

Weekend turn-out Tuesday, Jun 30 2009

I’m delinquent..yes I know…I ‘pologize!

My weekend was great tho.  Saturday night we went to R’s Mom’s 60th bday party at a restaurant.  It was nice to see his family members and they got a chance to see how big the girls have grown.  The downside was that Bird started complaining about her stomach hurting…then she had a fever…in like 20 mins.  I had them wrap our food, and I took her home.

Meanwhile back on the ranch…my cousins and their families came in from Maryland.  They were at my place turning it upside down.  I don’t have my air conditioner’s in yet so it was hot as hades.

Sunday we all to breakfast and then to visit my grandmother in the nursing home.  It’s really depressing, but she got to see her grandchildren that she’s never met.  Then they were back on the road with T in tow.  Yup…T is in Mary Land.  Not quite…she called me 5 times yesterday…for nothing.  I got her a cell phone…she kept asking me how many minutes she had.  I suppose thats a good thing…because if my cell phone bill looks like a lotto winnings check she’s gonna get cut.

What’s interesting is that T barely wanted to give me a hug before she left.  She did not give Bird a hug and I didn’t force her to.  Bird was kinda like watev anyway.  I wish I could push the accelerator on these hormonal changes.  She’ll be there for 4 weeks.  My cousin’s husband is a math teacher and he’s going to give her some much needed tutoring.

When she gets back the plan is to send them both to ATL for quality time with god-mommies and Aunties.

I have never been child-free like that….not sure I’ll know what to do with myself!

Let Roscoe tell it Friday, Jun 26 2009

Last night watching the news reports of MJ’s death

Bird: So there’s two Michael Jackson’s?

Me: No there’s only one

Bird: No…there’s a brown skinned Michael Jackson and a white Michael Jackson

Me: *sigh*

Tuesday evening at dinner for T’s graduation

Me: Grandma (R’s mom) is turning 60 tomorrow.

Bird:*In total amazement*  She’s only 59??? I didn’t know she was that young.  I thought she was like 82!

I explained that because Grandma is sick (cancer) she looks older now.  I was amazed that at her age she thought 60 was young.

The stuff that comes out of this girls mouth I can’t make up.

It’s too early… Friday, Jun 26 2009

..for alla dis…I forgot my iphone this morning…I’m going thru MAJOR withdrawal.

Walking to my office building this morning some guy  unloading a truck said goodmorning..NY’ers never stop when they’re walking…especially in midtown…I returned the good morning over my shoulder…not breaking my stride.  10 seconds later the strap on my flat sandals broke.  I had to stand there and change into my heeled sandals.  I’m sooo glad that I wasn’t snooty!

T’s Day Thursday, Jun 25 2009

Tuesday my girl T graduated.  We were blessed with good weather for most of the day.  This is the end of one chapter for her, but the beginning of another.  I’m excited for her.

Tuesday morning I took her to get her hair done.  She wanted a bang…I sorta had angst about that…that’s me…but the stylist suggested a sweeping bang and we were ALL happy with that compromise.

This is her dress.  I loved the colors and the coverage.  232323232%7Ffp933%3Enu%3D32%3C%3B%3E6%3A7%3E787%3EWSNRCG%3D32647493%3B8335nu0mrj

Wednesday Work Wear 6/24/09 edition Wednesday, Jun 24 2009

Hellerrrrr! I feel better ya’ll…wooo…ya girl was down for the count for a couple of days.  It came on sooo quick and sooo fast.  I took myself to urgent care and it turned out that I had a sinus infection and an ear infection.  I got my anti-biotics but it didn’t do anything for the pain that I was experiencing.  I coulda swore someone slapped me in the face with a brick.  My TEETH were KILLING me like I was chewing on the cement.  The worst is over now.  Thanks for the well wishes.

I wanted to get this up real quick.  I’ve not put this outfit together before.  One of my real challenges is that a ton of clothes are in the cleaners, and I’ve not been well enough or had time to pick them up.  I wish I had a skinny pink belt for this outfit.

This video was a bit hazy.  Here are my shoes…that I forgot I had..I kept thinking this morning “don’t I have a turquoise shoe?”  Not quite, but good enough.

This outfit is really similar to the other outfit I posted.  This time I wore capris.

Let’s try tomorrow Monday, Jun 22 2009

Playing dress up Friday, Jun 19 2009

There used to be a time when kids would go in their mom’s closet to play dress up.  You’d put on mom’s pearls and shoes…maybe there was a feather boa around..lol.  Nowadays girls don’t have to go into mom’s closet to play dress up because everything is right there in the stores.

T is 11 years old.  She’s graduating next week and I canNOT find a decent graduation dress for her.  All of the clothes are party dress for 18 year olds!We started looking a couple of weeks ago and everything is halter, strapless, spaghetti straps or has a deep v cut for boobage…WTH??  Too much skin!  Who’s co-signing this fashion for young girls??  Or is it me?  Am I too prudish?  Nope.

I can’t even take looking anymore.  I’m tired and frustrated. I’m going to make her a designer brown paper bag.

Love ‘em…they FINALLY arrived yesterday.  I don’t know if I can walk in them…I don’t have alot of experience in platform shoes, but I love them!

Color me wet Thursday, Jun 18 2009

Ugh…RAIN RAIN RAIN.   Bird’s real name is Jailyn, but I almost named her Rain…I don’t know if I would have spelled it that way, but my girls ragged on me about how she’d be called Torrential…so I changed my mind and I’m glad I did…lol

Anyway, this post is really about my hair.  I’m sick of this cinnamon color I’ve got going.  This is probably not a color that I would have chosen from a color wheel.  It changed as a result of me henna’ing.  I have some more henna now and I planned to henna this weekend, but I may need to delay my plans because I’m thinking I want to go jet black.  In order to do that I’ll need to add Indigo to the henna.

As I’ve said before the benefits of henna are wonderful…WHEN used properly it has great conditioning qualities and adds fullness to hair.  It’s also a natural coloring agent, which is what happened to my hair.
