That B12 vitamin is the B.Izness.  I feel a NOTICEABLE difference when I take it.  I say go get that.  I purchased it from Vita.min Shopp.e

What kind of mascara do you wear? I normally where Lancome Definicils…it’s great, but a lil on the pricey side.  I decided to try Stiletto by May.bel.line.  I’m not impressed…not even a lil bit.  You would think with a name like Stiletto! Thumbs down…I like full lashes and this is just a tease. stiletto

I purchased Deva Set it Free over the weekend.  When I first used it on dry hair I hated it.  It felt very tacky, but when I woke up I had good, shiny, defined curls.  I even got great results on 2nd day without re-twisting.  setitfree

I used it again Wednesday night.  This time I deep conditioned my hair and applied it to my wet hair after I rinsed out the conditioner.  I LOOOOOVE IT!  I’m working on 3 day hair right now, without re-twisting AND I got a hair compliment this morning…can you believe it?  This is a keeper.3dayfro

….well them.  Since the girls have been gone I’ve been shopping in stores and online like a mad person.  Real random too…spices…sheets…make-up.  I don’t have enough to occupy my time with school being over..for now and the girls being done.  I MISS THEM LOADS!! The cat is getting on my nerves.

Did you know that Bath and Body Works is having a really good sale?  Went there last night and loaded up.

When I got home I made fried chicken and jasmine rice w/salad…mmmm.   I also watched Ch.ris.Ro.ck.  He is WILD.

This was one of my buys.

I ran into an old friend that I grew up with some months back, while shopping in Tarzhay.  I’m funny acting sometimes (I’m real with myself) so when I first saw her my gut reaction was to keep walking as if I didn’t see her.  Instead I walked over and said hi.  She looked good and she explained to me that she had taken a leap and started her own non-profit.  After she finished explaining what her mission was I told her if there was any way that I could assist that I would.

She asked me to be a professor and I accepted. She continued telling me about the major contacts that she’d been making, as she was speaking I thought about the lawyer that I used to work for and thought he would be a great contact for her.  In the next 30 seconds she mentioned his name and told me how she met him and how difficult it is to catch him.  My jaw dropped…I laughed and then told her that I used to work for him and her eyes got real big.  She said she met him at an event and he told her to reach out to his assistant, Kelly.  She had no idea that it was me.  It’s a small world.

This project is still in its infancy, but based on the strides she’s already made I only see success in her future.

These things are a heel’s best friend.  They have changed my life for the better and I don’t plan on ever giving them up.  These are the TRUTH! If I were you, I’d pick up a pair on the way home.  You can thank me later.

Wednesday Work Wear Wednesday, Jun 17 2009

I stole a page out of S23’sbook today.  I’ve decided to not shop for a bit…a bit is still undefined as of right now…lol

Anyhow, I shopped my closet.  I’m not sure if this is how S23 is doing it, but I put together an outfit that I’ve not coordinated before…that’s more of the challenge for me….so that’s when I’ll post.

I’ve not worn this pencil skirt is like 2 years…it’s dark purple….along with a purple cardigan ( I heart cardigans and belts thx to TBS).  Underneath the purple cardigan is a chartreuse green sleeveless ruffle top, accessorized with my black patent leather belt and my patent leather black peep toe shoes.  Maybe with a video catalogue I won’t need to write it down anymore.  Imma work this flip.

It’s Wednesday and we’re rain free in NYC, my hair is a lil crazy…not as defined as it was yesterday, so I pinned it into a curl-hawk.   Have a good one!

The Unexpected Thursday, May 21 2009

Last night I took my car to my mom’s (retired) mechanic.  For about a week or so it’s been giving me serious signs that it doesn’t want to start. I wanted his opinion before I took it to the shop.  He had me turn the ignition over a few times to diagnose what he thought the problem would be.   He gave me his final word.  I got back in the car to go the auto shop and the friggin car won’t start!

It seems every time I get some money saved an unexpected expense rears its ugly head. I was pissed last night to say the least.   How am I ever supposed to build a nest egg when this keeps happening?  I don’t feel secure.  I need an emergency fund.  Although, my rational mind knew that if it’s happening it must be for a reason, my emotionally combustive mind wasn’t trying to hear it.

I had to get it towed to a shop.  I kept asking God..”does this mean you want me to get a car sooner than later?”  He didn’t answer…he does that sometimes ya know.

When I arrived at the shop I met “Jerome in the House”, and he got on my LAST nerve.

This morning I heard a song that I used to love (I heart Pandora).  I was reminded that if I put my faith in variables I will always be disappointed. Men, money, friends, and [fill in the blank] will always change.  Placing my faith in a constant, Christ, the ultimate invariable I will
never be disappointed.  I’m gonna have to learn to let go and let God.  My car is still jacked up…its still in the shop…I have NO idea how much it is going to cost, but whatever it is will be fine.

Products Friday, May 15 2009

Ok, so I decided to list a few of the products that I’m using that I think are working well.

When I purchased this I wasn’t so sure since it seems to be geared towards locs, but I love it.  It gives me really good hold, it’s a good moisturizer, it’s not gummy and it smells nice.  A little goes a long way.  After I section my hair I just a dab a little and smooth it through my ends, then twist.

For extra shine in the morning I add this hair silk by mixed chicks.  It adds a really nice softness to my hair as well.

My conditioners vary.  I’ve been using Herbal Essences Hair Hydration and Totally Twisted for a couple of months now.  They both work really well.  They leave my hair soft and detangled.  I use them as leave-ins as well.

Headbands…Headbands…Headbands!!!  I have a dome of a forehead, but headbands are my very best friend.  Headbands and hair pins.  When I pull back my hair on the sides I use hair pins and you can’t see them when there’s enough hair fluffage.  To jazz up a hairstyle for an occasion a nice headband pulls it off.  These two are from the store we all know and love..tarzhay

I LOVE… Tuesday, Jan 27 2009

….my netbook!   I ordered it New Year’s Day after stalking it for 3 months.    I saw a great deal on amazon so I pulled the trigger.   I wanted to reserve judgement about this cutie patootie until I was about 30 days in, but I  couldn’t wait.  I don’t have a single complaint.  It’s super lite,  and I haven’t noticed any weird quirks.  If you’re looking for a netbook I would recommend this one.  It’s a 6-cell netbook so the battery life is great.  You can see how small it is.  It’s the perfect accessory for my student life.  I’m able to complete writing assignments during my commute without it weighing me down; when I’m in bed laying on my side its usually on my hip while I’m watching tv and reading blogs.
